Concert Band
Yishun Primary School Concert Band (YPS Band) is a vibrant and disciplined performing group that nurtures students through music, character development and teamwork. Guided by our motto “One Band, One Sound”, our members learn that every individual matters and that excellence is achieved when we work together with respect, responsibility and resilience.
Through regular sectionals, full band practices and performances, students are trained to develop strong musical foundations, listening skills and ensemble awareness. Beyond technical skills, the Band also places strong emphasis on leadership, perseverance and confidence, helping students grow not just as musicians but as well-rounded individuals.

Achievements
- La Famille de Musique III 2025
YPS Concert Band took part in La Famille de Musique III, a combined concert with the Pasir Ris Secondary School Concert Band and Yuying Secondary School Concert Band. This collaboration provided our students with a valuable opportunity to perform alongside older and more experienced musicians, deepening their musical understanding and confidence on stage.
- 2025 National Day Performance @ YPS
In celebration of National Day, the Yishun Primary School Concert Band proudly performed a medley of familiar patriotic songs — “Home,” “Stand Up for Singapore,” “We Are Singapore,” and “Where I Belong.” Their lively and heartfelt performance filled the school with national pride and joy, uniting students and staff in the spirit of Singapore.
- 2025 SYF Celebrations - Band Jamboree
Yishun Primary School is proud to participate in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) 2025 Celebrations – Band Jamboree at the Esplanade. The event showcases talented school bands across Singapore, providing a vibrant platform for musical expression. Performing alongside other schools, our band members gain valuable experience, build camaraderie, and celebrate their passion for music.
